Job Corps
Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives.
At Job Corps, students enroll to learn a trade, earn a high
school diploma or GED and get help finding a good job. When you join the
program, you will be paid a monthly allowance; the longer you stay with
the program, the more your allowance will be. Job Corps provides career
counseling and transition support to its students for up to 12 months
after they graduate from the program...

Section 8 Housing Voucher Program (HCVP)
The HCVP program provides help to low income families with their monthly housing costs. Program participants pay a portion and a housing assistance payment is made for the remainder, directly to the owner.
Eligibility for a rental voucher is based on income and
family size and is limited to U.S. citizens and specified categories of
noncitizens that have eligible immigration status. The local Housing
Agency can provide specific area income limits.
To locate the right agency in your area or to apply over the
phone, contact Housing and Community Services at 800-622-4993 on Tuesday
or Thursday between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.
Citizens Gas Assistance Program
If you are getting behind on your bill, don't be
afraid to call us at (317) 924-3311. Various sources of energy
assistance are available and the utility frequently sets up flexible
payment arrangements to help customers catch up on past due bills.
Low-income customers might be eligible for financial assistance from the
State Energy Assistance Program (EAP). Starting in January 2005,
low-income Marion County customers who receive EAP assistance
automatically become eligible for the new Universal Service Program
(USP). When combined with other assistance, the USP will reduce the gas
bils of eligible low-income customers 20-50 percent over the next two
years.
